Back in 2008 I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Esperanza Spalding at The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia. Not to mention catching her set and instantly becoming a huge fan. Although I am a little late, I wanted to say congratulations to Esperanza for taking home this years Grammy for Best New Artist. The award could not have gone to a more amazingly talented musician, or nicer person.
